The Windsor Historical Society actively collects photographs, archival materials, maps, ephemera, and books which document the diverse peoples, places, and events that contribute to the community’s evolving history.

If you are interested in discussing a potential donation, contact the librarian at (860) 688-3813 or by email at bgoodwin@windsorhistoricalsociety.org. Please do not send materials in the mail without conferring with our staff first.

Please note the following guidelines:

Ø       Materials should relate directly to Windsor history, Windsor genealogy, or the museum objects in the Windsor Historical Society collections

Ø       We are particularly interested in photographs and materials which document Windsor’s evolution from an agricultural village to a diverse suburban community

Ø       Our Collections Committee comprised of staff, board members, museum professionals, and community representatives meets several times a year to review potential acquisitions.  For items that are accepted into the collection, signed Deed of Gift paperwork documents the formal transfer of ownership to the Windsor Historical Society
