Roy M. Marcot Collection

The collection is primarily comprised of secondary research materials assembled by the donor in the course of researching and writing his book Spencer Repeating Firearms.  It includes magazine and newspaper articles, photographs, manuscripts, booklets, and research notes about Christopher Miner Spencer and the repeating rifle.  Several booklets include articles about Spencer and the history of the automatic screw machine. Typescript transcriptions of a small series of letters written by George Washington Rogers to his wife Frances Linnell Taylor Rogers from Valparaiso in 1855 are also part of the collection.
