St. Patrick’s Day Concert of Fiddle and Harp Music March 16 7pm - 8pm
On March 16th, at 7:00 p.m., get prepared for St. Patrick’s Day and into an Irish mood with a special concert of traditional and contemporary Irish music with fiddler Kate O’Brien and harpist Wendy Kerner Lucas. The excitement of the fiddle pairs well with the beauty of the harp in the capable hands of O’Brien, violinist with the Greater Bridgeport Symphony and Lucas, principal harpist with the Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Ridgefield Symphonies. Both artists play all over the country and are part of the group THEMSELVES which promotes Irish culture to future generations and is known for exceptional performances of toe-tapping Irish music and dance. Lucas and O’Brien love sharing the joy, spirit, and heartfelt emotion of Celtic music with their audiences and their musical performance at the Society will include history, stories and song.
This program is supported by the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism and the National Endowment for the Arts, The George A. and Grace L. Long Foundation, and Greater Hartford Arts Council.
Come celebrate an early St. Patrick’s Day with us and enjoy Irish soda bread and apple cider.
