Victorian Tea and Performance
On
Saturday, November 6th from 3:30 to 5 p.m., as part
of the Windsor Chamber of Commerce’s fifth Annual Windsor
Wade and Tea Fair, you are invited to a tea and performance
by entertainer Kandie Carle at the Windsor Historical
Society. Enjoy delicious fancy sweet treats, tea and Kandie
Carle’s special Civil War “undress” show. Your $15 ticket
includes a raffle to a tea-themed gift basket including a
Wade teapot donating by Happy Wade-ing.
Ms. Carle’s
lively program begins as she dons undergarments over a body
suit – the corseting, hoops and petticoats that gave Civil
War-era dresses their shape. Once formally clothed, she’ll
accessorize with fans, jewelry, hats and explain the
contents of her purse. She’ll discuss manners, customs,
and the role of servants in the Victorian household. She
will also talk about inventions of the era, home life, and
life in the workplace. The program is a delightful mix of
facts, humor and history.
Reservations must be made for this program by November 5th.
