Fun for the Whole
family.
Remember when winter
meant snowballs and hot chocolate rather than icy
roads and shoveling driveways? Recapture the magic
of winter at the Windsor Historical Society’s
Winterfest on December 2 from 10 to 4.
Crafts, art projects,
and treats await participants of all ages at this
free program. Participants can make a snowflake
necklace, construct a pinecone bird feeder, paint a
winter scene, cut a paper snowflake, build an igloo,
decorate a sugar cookie treat, and participate in an
indoor snowman-making contest. Visitors will also
enjoy a display of winter clothing and toys from the
Society’s collection.
Winterfest is offered in
conjunction with the Society’s exhibition, Windsor
Artists: Then and Now. This exhibition features fine
and decorative artwork made by Windsor artists over
the past 400 years, and is sponsored by an anonymous
donor, Rabbett Insurance, the Town of Windsor
through its Arts and Culture granting program, and
Windsor Federal Savings.
Visitors are also invited to tour the Society’s
permanent gallery to learn about Windsor’s rich
history. All Winterfest activities are free to the
public and will be held at the Windsor Historical
Society.
